Shortly before the Fast of 9th Av we discussed a passage from the Zohar (I 202b-203a) concerning the destruction of the Temple and the spiritual effect of the service in the Temple. We examined a diagram of the 2nd Temple in Jerusalem, a passage from Tanya about the nature of the Temple, and also considered a Chassidic re-interpretation of a verse from Lamentations, showing its positive dimension. The Mili G Kabbala group (15 September 2013) studied an English summary of a discourse by the Lubavitcher Rebbe taught in 1966 on Succot. This presents the idea that the burst of spiritual energy generated on Yom Kippur is revealed as joy on the Succot festival.
